Alfred Pedersen & Søn ApS
Alfred Pedersen & Søn ApS is the largest tomato producer in Denmark, growing 5 tomato varieties on an area of 12 hectares. Each tomato variety requires specific growing conditions. The company was looking for a new solution that could increase production volume while maintaining the same quality.
High quality with the hybrid solution
Growing tomatoes means achieving high yields in kg/m2 while maintaining the same quality all year round. Tomatoes are traditionally grown under standard high-pressure sodium lamps, but DGT by Senmatic offers a cost-effective solution that combines the best of both worlds: the hybrid solution. The solution combines the thermal radiation from traditional lamps with the photosynthetic light emitted from the FL300 system. The hybrid solution makes it possible to grow high-quality tomatoes without replacing the entire system at once.
The illustration shows that the FL300 system is as easy to install as high-pressure sodium lamps, as the existing cables and rails can be used for the new luminaires. The benefits of the hybrid system are immediately apparent: the installation supplements the existing lamps with an additional 90 µmol/m²/s of light, stimulating efficient tomato growth and increasing yield and production.
