Aarhus University
When Aarhus University needed to invest in new climate chambers for their horticultural facilities, they went for LED lighting. After testing different manufacturers’ equipment, the researchers chose the new FL300 Sunlight system from DGT by Senmatic. The light from the FL300 Sunlight is similar to sunlight and the system uses the same technology as FL300 Grow, but offers a different spectrum.
A wealth of benefits
The FL300 Sunlight has been a success for Aarhus University because, among other things, it has made it possible to grow tomatoes indoors without natural light. The light distribution is extremely uniform and it is possible to achieve very high light levels. The FL300 Sunlight is easy to install and all functions are controlled by a climate computer. Researchers can select the desired light level and turn the light up and down using a dimming function. The system makes it easier to control the temperature in the growth chamber because the luminaires do not emit radiant heat. And unlike metal halide lamps, the FL300 Sunlight contains no hazardous materials.
