The UV-C rays penetrate the genetic material of the bacteria and destroy the genetic material so that the bacteria cannot reproduce. UV Water Treatment consists of several reactors made of acid-proof stainless steel in which a UV-C lamp is placed in a protective quartz immersion tube.
The system is designed based on calculations that guarantee an irradiation of 400 J/m2 at all points in the reactor. The design takes into account that the intensity of the lamp decreases with lifetime. Therefore, all calculated capacities are based on the intensity at the end of the lamp’s lifetime.
To monitor UV irradiation, the system comes with an approved UV sensor that continuously measures UV intensity and gives an alarm in case of low UV irradiation. The system is delivered with the reactors connected in series. The flow through multiple reactors ensures a charge to achieve better utilization of the UV light in each reactor.
In order to determine which type of UV Water Treatment is needed in each production, the transparency of the water must be measured. UV Water Treatment can be installed in an existing system and does not take up much space. It is fully automated and does not require specially trained personnel for operation and maintenance.
